Connecting People
Model of an office design for The Barbarian Group in New York by Clive Wilkinson Architects. The table runs through the whole space and is a wonderful example of design that connects people from different generations, and job descriptions, on a work and social level at the same time!

Waterfront grain silo redevelopment project: CT
thomas heatherwick officially revealed plans for a project his firm is working on in cape town, presenting an idea for a contemporary art museum along the south african city’s famous V&A waterfront. The task is to transform the historic grain silo complex with an intervention that would become a venue for exhibiting the modern african art of collector zeitz, for which the center is being named after.

Name and Logo Exploration
The name of the building development will be "hybrid". It relates to the new south african culture (combination of many) I was to introduce into the design. Hybrid speaks of a contrast that works together to create something new and productive.
The retail environment will have its own identity and the name is "hi-bru" playing on our south african slang. Also a play on words to use "bru" instead of "brew" for the coffee culture experience cafe.
The commercial office space will have a separate identity (+ism) coming form the word hybridism. Then the word prism springs to mind.
The concept of prism physics is perfect for a space where people meet with a goal in mind (light source entering prism) and then come together to create many solutions (spectrum of colour exiting prism) and hence the geometric nature of the +ism logo.

Naming Rights
So I'm thinking of a few names for the development and because it is a mixed used the building itself needs a name and corporate identity followed by the offices and shops and apartments.
Some things i have come up with so far for the name of the building:

- Skyline Views (this building does have great views from the upper floors)
- City Life
- Urban Arena/Avenue
- Evlove
- Cognition(process of acuqiring knowledge through thought, experiences and senses-relating to the idea of people relating directly to the city and experiencing it)

Green Parking
ArtA cultural center by kengo kuma
Fantastic approach to the design of a public ground floor space and more private floors above.
A screen made from red clay roof tiles protects the most sensitive galleries from direct sunlight and at the same time provides transparency and a constant visual connection between internal and external space.

Chongqing City (urban design proposal)
Chongqing City (urban design proposal)
Amazing proposal where the design relates to the city and landscape and provides great public space.

B.Tech proposal, urban design/mixed use development
The aim of the B.Tech year is to consider the broader context of design
in the city of Port Elizabeth, thinking how design can change the lives of
people instead of design being something that only a fraction of the population
can benefit from. With that being said my proposal will have a focus on the
impact on the living conditions and well-being of the immediate community surrounding the location.
The idea is to improve the city dynamics and the relationship with the user and the city and by so doing, move toward a global
way of living where convenience will be nothing less than expected.
